A membrane keyboard is an ideal completion of every enclosure. Your device gains a modern look and it becomes more useful at the same time. They are made of  specially prepared  films, which are usually polyester ones. Thanks to this, the keyboard is resistant to chemical substances. The material is also characterized by high mechanical resistance which guarantees a life cycle for at least 5 million key presses.

 

      Moreover, the keyboard is hermetic – it is waterproof, dust-proof etc. The decorative graphics are visible through the thick film layers, which make them resistant to all kinds of mechanical damages like scratches, and prevent the print from rubbing off during the operation of the keyboard.

 

      The production technology makes it possible to adjust the membrane keyboard to the individual characteristics of each single device, when it comes to graphics, color scheme, key embossing design, film textures and the shape of the keyboard.

 

      A properly designed and manufactured keyboard will increase the product attractiveness -  in fact, the customers “judge the book by its cover”, even when the products are highly specialized. 

      The keyboards manufacturing is mainly based on screen printing. Thanks to this technique costs of the preparation and manufacturing are quite low and incomparable to the costs of producing any other types of keyboards. What is also important is that we can easily modify the graphics and adjust the device look to client's or trading partner's expectations.

 

      High endurance, resistance against mechanical damages and working conditions, as well as aesthetics of these products caused that membrane keyboards are widely used in electronic devices, household appliances, industrial automation and control products, medical equipment etc.

Construction

 

In our offer, there are four basic types of membrane keyboards:

 -        Flat membrane keyboards- these keyboards are the thinnest and the most durable out of all four types. When a key is pressed, its operation is not tactile.

 -        Membrane keyboards with embossed keys- these keyboards have decorative film embossings which make it possible to feel the key shape. Dome embossing gives also the possibility to feel the moment of the key operation when pressed.

 -        Membrane keyboards with metal domes- if a metal dome is used inside the keyboard, it is possible to feel the key operation when it is pressed. The decorative film which is placed over the key can be also embossed.

 -        Membrane keyboards with light-emitting diodes LED- keyboards with integrated LED diodes eliminate the need to mount alarming diodes on the surface of the device enclosure. Diodes and resistors are placed between the keyboard layers which does not influence the keyboard thickness.

 

Technical data of membrane keyboards

 

Decor foils – the film is made of modified polyester, its thickness varies from 150 to 200 microns.

Imprint – the imprint is placed on the inside layer (visible through the film) selected from the Color Guide (RAL, Pantone). It is resistant to rubbing off , cleaning with detergents and to many chemical substances.

Surface finishes – matt, gloss, selective matt or gloss areas on the overlay

Decor foil embossing – there are three basic shapes – spherical embossing, flat embossing and frame embossing.

Display windows – matt, transparent or with a color filter

Keys – flat keys, keys with metal domes, embossed keys

Conductive paths and contact pads – they are made of silver paste, the minimal width is 0,5 mm, and the minimal distance is 0,7 mm

It is possible to mount LED diodes

 

Exploitation

 1. The keyboard is designed to be used on a smooth and firm surface

2. We do not recommend you detach the membrane keyboard and try to stick it again

3. Press the switches using your fingers only

4. Avoid touching the keyboard with sharp items

5. We recommend you wash the keyboard with water and usual cleaning products

 

The standard period for order realization is 14 working days

The period needed for preparing the keyboard design is 10 working days
